Ski jumping, Cross-country skiing

Ski jumping is a sport that includes ski jumping from specially equipped ski jumps. They perform as an independent sport, and are also included in the program of the ski double-event. Among the representatives of winter disciplines, this sport is one of the most spectacular and rated.
The first ski jumping competitions in Minsk were held in 1936 on the K-20 ski jump, which was located in the area of the garment factory named after him. Krupskaya.
Further development was continued in the early 60s. At that time, with the help of enthusiastic specialists, 3 training jumps with a capacity of 20-25 meters were built. Currently, there are 3 ski jumps in the Minsk region (RCOP for the Raubichi sports Complex), of which: K-24, K-52, K-74, which is equipped with artificial turf, which allows for training and competitions in the summer.
Cross-country skiing is an exciting mix of cross-country skiing and ski jumping. Only men participate in cross-country skiing competitions. As a rule, they demonstrate their skills within two days. First, the judges evaluate the ski jumping. The race starts the next day.
For the first time in Minsk in 1982, the USSR team Championship and the USSR Cup in cross-country skiing were held on the big springboard in Raubichi. In 1985, the Spartakiad of friendly army teams in skiing, including ski jumping and cross-country skiing, was held.
The Championship of the Republic of Belarus in ski jumping and cross-country skiing began to be held in 1955, and since 1962 these disciplines have been included in the program of the winter Spartakiads of the peoples of the USSR.
Belarusian athletes have been participating in international competitions in ski jumping and cross-country skiing since 1961.
In the modern history of independent Belarus in the international arena, our athletes began to take part in the Winter Olympic Games of 1994,1998,2002,2006 and 2010.
During this time, Belarusian athletes have won 8 medals at the World Student Games (2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze).
7 masters of sports of international class and over 30 masters of sports have been trained.
The most significant results among Belarusian athletes in history have been achieved:
-MS V.N. Palchevsky – USSR champion in ski jumping K-75
-MSMK S. Chumak – champion of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR on the K-120 springboard in 1990 in the village of Skole (Ukraine);
-MSMK S. Bobrov – champion of the World Universiade in 1999 on the K-120 springboard with a record of 128.5 m springboard in Slovakia;
-MSMK A. Lyskovets was the winner of the Intercontinental Cup in the USA in 2001;
-MSMK M. Anisimov was the winner of the Intercontinental Cup in Austria in 2007;
– the longest jumps on the K-180 ski jump were made:
MS A. Sinyavsky -180 m at the World Cup in 1997;
The range record of the Republic of Belarus belongs to MS P. Chaadaev 197.5m at the World Flying Championships in Bad Mittendorf (Austria) in 2006.
