Tennis as a sport has been developed in Minsk since 1921. After the Great Patriotic War, regular BSSR tennis championships began to be held in Minsk, and tennis sports sections began to function – Dynamo, SKA, SC MAZ, DSO Krasnoe Znamya. In 1978, the Tennis Palace, the largest tennis center in Belarus, was put into operation in Minsk.
