Minsk sports
The system of training sports reserves and high-class athletes in Minsk includes: 56 sports schools and youth schools, 5 MOUNTAINS, 1 MGGUOR, 1 MGSHVSM.
In the first half of 2013, the state certification of all 56 sports schools was provided. Based on the results of the state certification:
51 institutions have received the status of a “specialized Olympic reserve”, of which 4 received this status for the first time (School of field hockey, School of figure skating, School of skiing, School of Trade Unions in swimming “Eaglet”);
55 institutions have been certified for 4 years, 3 institutions for 1 year with re–certification in a year (“Youth sports School of UP “Minskmetrostroy”, “Youth football school “Torpedo” of JSC “MAZ” – the management company of the holding “BELAVTOMAZ”, “Sports School of Martial Arts” of the Ministry of Education);
13 departments of the same sport, working in different sports schools, have been optimized and transferred to one institution;
Three institutions have been liquidated.
In order to optimize recruitment, a rational ratio of recruitment of initial training groups for Olympic (2:1) and non-Olympic (1:1) sports has been established.
It is worth noting that when matching the 1:1 and 2:1 recruitment plans, the number of students for payment increased.
The Sports School and the Youth Sports School provide training in 66 sports, 19 of them in non-Olympic sports. 20715 students are trained in these schools, 1086 trainers-teachers carry out the educational and training process, 812 of them are full-time. Thus, without taking into account the internal alignment, 80% of full-time coaches and teachers work in schools. However, in the trade union system, this figure was 74.2%.
In the conditions of specialized sports classes, 1,368 students from among the students of specialized educational and sports institutions study. At the same time, in educational institutions of Minsk, taking into account not only sports schools and Olympic reserve centers, this work was organized by other institutions and organizations of physical culture and sports (FC Dynamo Minsk CJSC, Dynamo Minsk Handball Club and others) and according to the education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, this figure is 1,742 people.
The coverage of secondary school students with training in specialized educational and sports institutions is 14.8% (-0.4%).
The rate of improvement of students during the summer vacation period in 2013 was 53.5%, while the State Program plan was 46.4% (+7.1).
There are 314 students in 31 sports, including 2 non-Olympic sports (6 students), which is 0.8% of the total number of students.
The training process is carried out by 27 trainer-teachers, 8 of whom are full-time (26%). Of the full–time coaches, 5 have the highest, 3 have the first coaching category.
MGSHVSM has 8 departments, including 7 for Olympic sports, with a contingent of 80 people involved. 51 people were enrolled in the VSM groups, 29 in the ATP groups, of whom 21 people (16.8%) have the titles of ZMS and MSMC. In 2013, the variable composition of the institution was 28 people. The training work is carried out by 26 trainer-teachers, 11 of them are full-time (42%). 10 people have the highest coaching category. The institution does not have its own sports base. It uses the sports bases of specialized educational and sports institutions and other organizations in Minsk for the training of athletes.
Academic rowing, kayaking and canoeing, rhythmic gymnastics, and tennis have received the greatest development in the city, taking into account sports traditions. The most popular are (more than 1000 people involved) swimming, football, ice hockey, athletics, although this figure is insufficient for athletics. At the same time, athletics, weightlifting, boxing, and gymnastics are not at the proper level today, as evidenced by the low results of the teams at the Olympic Youth Days of the Republic of Belarus. Thus, Minsk took the 3rd place in the preparation of the sports reserve (2012 – 1st place).
The institutions of the city have trained 6384 athletes of mass categories (-811), 1 and 1268 KMS people (-5). The plan of the State Program for the development of physical culture and sports in this part has not been implemented.
The contribution of Minsk to the achievements of Belarusian athletes in the international sports arena is 32.1% in the context of the territories of the republic. At official international competitions in scoring sports, the capital’s athletes won 243 medals (2012 – 260), including 68 gold (2012 – 76). 50 masters of sports of international class have been trained, 139 masters of sports.
The highest qualification category was assigned to 94 trainers-teachers of SUSU and UOR, category 1 – 95, category 2 – 113.
In order to strengthen the material and sports base of the SUSU and create better conditions for the educational and training process in Minsk, they were put into operation in 2013:
