The school was set up on 2 October 2002 (in pursuance  of resolution No.1247 of the Minsk City Executive Committee as of 20 August  2002).

The main objectives of the school are:
- to implement  state programs for the development of sport in the Republic of Belarus, train  national and national teams of the Republic of Belarus;

 - ensure decentralized training of athletes, coaches  of national teams of the Republic   of Belarus;

 - to provide training of members, trainees and backup  teams of the Republic   of Belarus;

- to provide assistance to physical education and  sports organizations in promoting Olympic sports, and non-Olympic sports where Belarus  has national teams;

- to develop technical facilities to ensure the  conditions for high-quality training of top-class sportsmen of national and  national teams of the Republic of Belarus;

- to promote sports, to  ensure the organizational-methodical provision of training of the athletic  talent pool.
